Default First Post-MPG

I just got a '06 S2k with 20k on it and drove it 324 miles home(all freeway). We got 29.13 mpg, I thought they only got about 24-25 mpg but I did that drive on one tank of gas(we drove 70 mph most of the time)is this typical for the S2k ?

My wife and I just love the way it drives and the way it hugs the road.

The guy I bought it from had a Parts Master ? oil filter on it so I took it off and put on a Napa 1347 till I get to the Baldwin dealer to see what filters I can run on it. I like to use the biggest filter I can fit but still be warranty compliant. Will have to look at the Baldwin B168, B199 and B7042 to see if they will fit.

Yea thats normal mpg. Especially for an 06+. I would use honda filters just because they are cheap.

Use an OEM filter, the engine was designed with that filter. Congrats on the purchase

29mpg? That's amazing. I've never gotten more than 26, with my average being 24

About 2 weeks ago I got 30.0 & 30.1 MPG on two different tanks on the way back from Colorado with my 05. The last one was from Deming, NM to Tucson at 83 MPH with the AC on.

I seem to get around 25-26 MPG around town.

Vik2000,
I like that air filter, now that's BIG.

The oil filters I'm looking at are 76.2 mm x 130 and if this one will fit 93.7 x 136.5(Baldwin filters) also a FleetGuard LF 3369 that is 93.7 x 136.1mm long. I drove truck for 25 years and Baldwin or FleetGuard were the only filters I used on my truck.

I wouldnt worry so much about size i only run the purolator PureOne , or the Bosh Distance Plus filter they both trap 99.9 percent of all dirt down to one micron and if you ask me thats pretty good it gives you that piece of mind that virtually no dirt what so ever is getting into the bearings. the Bosh is better than the PureOne because it has the highest burst strength and holds up to 30 grams of dirt where as the Pure one only holds up to 13 grams. To my knowledge these two filters are the best oil filters made and arent really expensive ether. Pure one is around $ 7.00 and Bosh is around $ 15.00 and both are the shape and size of the oem honda oil filter.
