Default First road and safety hazard check...

This past weekend on Saturday, I got caught in my first road and safety hazard check. It was odd, I have never seen anything like this in Chicago burbs before, in Lombard to be exact for the locals.
So it was around 11pm-12am and me and the g/f were going to get some White Castle.. We were craving . As we get closer to our destination, the 3 lane road merges down to a 1 lane and see this guy waving ppl to go straight or turn into this huge parking lot full of lights, cars, cops, and tow trucks. Yes, tow trucks! Of course, I was sent to the parking lot.
At the same time I'm thinking I have nothing to worry about in my S, almost everyything is still stock except for a few light changes. I kept the signals amber but just cleared everything out. I still thought nothing of it and felt confident I have no reason to be afraid. So I pull in a spot I was directed to, and this cop walks up to me and states "give me a reason why I shouldnt give you a citation for no front license plate?".( I thought, OH SHIT!!. Forgot about that). I was so confident of nothing to worry about, I blanked out on an answer and said "I..I...I truthfully dont have one officer . Then I followed up with "Well, actually I dont have the plugs for them yet, officer" . He asks me, How long have I had the car?" and replied with, 2 months.( again). So, He then goes around does the light checks to make sure everything works and comes back to get my license. Questions me if I still live in Chicago, and what I'm doing all the way here? My girlfriend lives here and we were on our way to White Castle which is in the same lot as where all this was going on. I get a laugh out of him, and w/o even realizing, I had about 6 other cops surrounding my car. But I could hear the whispers of "beautiful car, nice car, fast car, what honda is this..etc." from the other cops. I'm thinking, oh yea!! Cop hands me my license back, tells me make sure I get that front license fix, so I can go ahead and by more sliders. And told me to go. We than sat in White Castle parking lot to eat as we watched all these cars get towed.
An interesting night for me at least. Thanks for reading guys, I thought some of you might enjoy it and warn some of the locals do not go on North Ave in Lombard, IL.

Yea, I was pretty happy when he let me go. But the cop was pretty cool and seems like he respected the vehicle and how bad it would look with front plates on it....

A road and safety hazard check would of course include a check for DUI.
