I got my first ticket in September last year. Was driving 112 km/h in an 80km/h zone, which is quite exactly 70mph in a 50mph zone. The ticket was 7800kr which is almost exactly $1300!
I've owned an S2000 since March 2001. I've put over 108,000 miles on the two I've had. And I just got my first ticket in an S2000 on May 1st. He nailed me for 81 in a 70 mph zone. I live in So Cal, north of Los Angeles, but got it in Louisiana.
I just got off the phone with Louisianna. If I want to pay the fine for the ticket, and have it shared with California on my record, it will cost me $197. For 81 mph in a 70 mph zone! Seems steep to me.
Or, they will let me go to traffic school in Calif (and pay whatever that cost is) plus send them a money order for $150, but no record. I'm doing the traffic school route. It should cost about the same in the end but I want to keep my record clear when I can. The last time I did traffic school (for my '98 Odyssey van ) I did one online.
A few years ago I got my first ticket on Easter Sunday of all days. I was heading to church after picking up my wife, at the time girlfriend. I got a ticket for doing 62 in a 55. I thought well its Easter he might be nice. Then I was thinking damn he's probably mad because he's working on Easter.
Bummer. In AL, you don't want to be able to take those pics like Kyras has. If you're out of the car you're pretty much screwed. If any of you heavy speeders are heading threw TN (Dragon possibly) anything over 100 MPH is manditory 12 hours in jail.
That's where I did go, the Dragon, on my way to Virginia.
I'm glad I didn't screw up by taking the photos. I don't think the trooper knew I did. He was looking down and writing from what I could see through his windshield.
I don't think you would get into trouble for taking the pic, the previous post was just saying its not looking good for the guy that took the pic outside the vehicle. Its never a good thing when an officer asks you to step out of the vehicle.

My exact reaction was "Holy shit! That's a lot of money for that ticket!"
