dude, instead of being a smartass and pretending like you know more than the cop (not you in specific just generally speaking), is only going to get them more mad and make them give you a ticket, just bullshit them, be polite, apologize, and just be real innocent and most of the time theyll just give you a warning. if you try to get smart with them and start questioning them theyre gonna give you a ticket to piss you off.... my friend got pulled over for speeding and just kept being an asshole to the cop and ended up getting his car towed....

LOL, i don't know anywhere else but here in Texas being polite won't get you out of a ticket. I don't know how many times i was trying to be nice and polite with them but in the end they always said: " I hate to giving you a ticket but if i don't it won't be fair to other people that i had handed them tickets today" and don't even try to be innocent with them unless your license plate is from out of state....they won't biting that at all.

That may not get you "out of it", but it will certainly help with keeping the LEO from writing you up for ANYTHING else . I ran a Yellow/Red; when I went to court, the LEO stated that I was very respectful and coopertive... because of my good driving record and the LEO's comment, the judge reduced the offense such that no points were issued.
Should also consider purchasing an RD (which by no means is your pass for reckless driving ), everyone exceeds the PSL from time to time, intentional or not; sometimes you just don't catch yourself when following a "pack". Then with this car, sometimes it's hard to resist cranking it out a bit

Do you have a radar detector?
No, they are illegal in my state. Not even trying to open that can of worms. He didn't say specifically that he had me on radar, but he wrote on the ticket the specific speed. I wouldn't think he could just guestemate a number.

Well, that's basically what happened. It was starting to get late and I was just trying to get home. I was moving with the pack and wasn't even really paying attention to how fast I was going until I saw the cop on the side of the road. I immediately started to slow down some, but by that time is was too late. Damn tickets suck.

I ussually just paid off the tickets, but now i took my time and go to court. You will be suprise of how much $$$ you'll save by just showing up in court for 30-45 minutes. Ussually they'll give you a plea and reduce the fine. So 30-45 minutes going to court and save $75-$100 then HELL YEAH!!! and also one more good thing by going to court is that you can delay your fine for couple to several months if you don't have the money to pay it right away.
Well the money to pay the fine isn't the issue that worries me. It's my insurance company raising my insurance since I got a wreckless last year and now another ticket.

Go to court,

be polite and very respectful, pleasant, professional.

wear a suit, to let the Judge know you are aware of his power and the court's.

don't put down the popo...you'll be out of luck instantly

tell him ...you were heading home after a very long day at work and running

with the pace of all the other traffic... you weren't trying to pass anyone and

you didn't want to get run over by the OTHER speeding traffic...

if you were going the posted speed limit, you might get rear ended...

make your case smoothly and calm...thank them for listening to you,

be nice to the popo that wrote you up, even say HI to him before hand,

be nice to the clerks, etc.

your busted... you have a wreckless...

tell them you've learned your lesson from that (wreckless)

and you were NOT any faster than the average car on the roadway at that point

in time...

pay the court costs and give it a shot. The Judge may know popo was running

a revenue enhancement safety section that day to make payroll.

sounds like you don't have much to lose, its not the $$$ its the POINTS

that HURT.

Jeff

This has gotten me out of atleast 4 tickets over the last decade. Remember to say 'sir' at the end of every sentence. (yes sir, no sir, etc.) I passed a cop on the right in a 55 going somewhere between 75-80. He was in this SUV with low profile sirens, in a group of cars. I think I got lucky, cause he was in a hurry, but no ticket, just a lecture. I'll take a lecture over a ticket any day of the week. That was on 270 here in MD.
