I feel ya....I just got my first ticket in the S2000 last night too, although it isn't quite as bad as yours. Got picked off for no front license plate (a law in NJ). What sucked about it was the officer said "Yeah putting the front plate on this car would make it look like crap, I know I wouldn't want to put it on if I had this car" then he comes back and gives me a ticket . Oh and I have my license plate on the dash too so technically I do have the playe, it's just not on the front bumper. Oh well I'll pay the $54 ticket and keep the plate where it is.

I just got out of a ticket by going to court in southern VA. I did not BELIEVE how many people got out of a ticket because of a "faulty instrument panel."

The judge barely looked at the receipt, he just dismissed the ticket and gave them whatever fine accompanies having "defective" equipment. Might wanna consider going to your local Mobil and giving someone $50 to write-up some bs report about your speedometer...

Even if radar detectors are illegal, you can still have one in the car. You just have to be quick about throwing it in the "secret compartment" when you get pulled over. A cop might even see the marks on your windshield from the suction cups, but since half the dealerships don't even know about that compartment, he won't know about it either. I can also show you how to install an active radar jammer that will never be seen. FYI passive jammers don't work at all, active jammers are illegal pretty much everywhere. However, short of ripping my car apart down to the frame, nobody would ever find mine. Haven't gotten a single ticket since I installed the detector and jammer.

I never thought about that. I have a shop that does my inspections so I can pass without a cat, etc. Maybe I can get them to write up something about my speedo.

That sounds like a good idea. I have never owned either a radar detector or a jammer, but I am interested in both. Would definitely keep me out of situations like this one.

It's definitely worth a shot, I think it's much more certain than going there and being respectful.

The judge asked this one woman who had that bullshit instrument panel excuse if she mentioned the fact that her interior lights didn't work to the cop at the time she was pulled over. The cop said no, and she replied that there was no point in arguing since he must have been right because he was using radar. She plead guilty, but the charge was dismissed.

Good luck.
