Man's Best,

Thanks for the feedback, but I got my mats before there were any velcro or gommets included. I'm sure that I can take care of, but the wearing issue is the one that bothers me the most. These mats were marketed as "high quality" when this was the only grade available. I don't want to rant, I'm just trying to give others that are thinking about buying the mats data from which they can base an educated decision.

Thanks,
Jeff

I have Muz mats, no problem with the quality or the color (black) but mine do pivot around the eyelet as well. I used a liberal amount of double-sided carpet tape which seems to have slowed it down but it still migrates slowly. I think it has to do with how I get in and out of the car, it puts a lot of pressure on the mat at an angle.

If anybody has installed their mats without following the instructions then your mats are not correctly installed.

If for some reason a distributor delivered your mats rolled up then this is also going to cause problems if you just throw them in the car as you would with 'normal' mats.

my 2 cents.

i bought a muz mat almost immediately upon receipt of my car. it's a fantastic product that really works and i couldn't be more happy with it.

a few months later, i noticed that the carpet on the passenger side cross brace was beginning to wear. my better half is short (5'4") and she routinely rests her feet in this spot. rather than risk emasculation for getting on her about where she puts her feet, i decided to invest in new mats.

i got in touch with quite a few owners on this board with red interiors and decided to pass on the red mats. the color just didn't seem to match. no worries, i thought muz was very upfront about the fact that the color wasnt an exact match. for the record, im not disagreeing or pointing fingers here. this was my experience and nothing more.

i went with black basic mats, heel mat and eyelet on driver side. red "s2000" stitching.

my driver's side mat does not move around. my passenger's side mat does. unfortunately, my mats were shipped rolled and i put some heavy books on them to try and flatten them out over a few day period. it helped, but didn't solve the problem. my passenger side mat will not stay down and i need to adjust it quite often.

the other problem that i am having is "fuzzing". the carpet seems to be shedding quite a bit on the mats by fuzzing up. it's not such a big deal, per se, other than the fact that it looks bad and makes a mess. i am worried; however, about the long-term implications of the fuzzing. i hope the mats don't wear down.

again, my purpose of posting was not to point fingers or place blame. rather it was to share my experience and hopefully educate another potential buyer.

I haven't felt the need to add in to this until now, however Muz your replies about the directions and the velcro kind of bug me just a bit. When I received my mats, there were no directions, nor any velcro included in the package. Just 2 mats, somewhat loosely rolled in a container. I bought direct because the GB price difference wasn't worth the extra hassle to me.

Now don't get me wrong here, because I'm really not complaining. I gave the mats time to flatten out and that worked just fine. And although they move around some, I personally just figured that I would make it a winter project (I actually PM'd you and you told me to use the velcro that came with it that didn't actually come with it). Anyway, I wonder if it was very common not to get directions or velcro, in which case the exasperation at the mats tendency to move around despite reviews to the contrary are understandable.

Also my mats do fuzz alot, but it vacuums up just fine.

No it shouldn't be common at all but I guess it's possible the guy who packed the items, through human error, has simply overlooked including them. I can't string him up for that but I will speak to the trim shop owner in a bid to minimise chances of it happening in future. I have for many months provided instructions on both of my web sites as well. I also provide additional instructions for some products in the Group Buy forum. I thought I had all bases covered
