Fixed the creeping floormats
If it matters, I didn't get instructions with my mats either. Although mine did go through a group purchase. My mats were mailed in a flat container though and were not rolled. I am happy about that.
Never thought one would need "instructions" for floor mats. I guess I have a lot to learn. I will search around Muz's sites for them. I hope they are not too complicated???

Winter, thanks for the link. As I suspected there is not too much to installing floor mats. The "optional" instructions for the velcro strips might help. As I said, there were no instructions or velcro with my mats. I'll pick some up at the store and give it a try.

OK... I've now got to the bottom of this and today I'm kicking some butt.
It would appear the person responsible for packing went on holidays for a few weeks and another guy at the shop has been packing my shipments.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I trust everybody now knows where to get the instructions from if they are missing from your shipment. If you're one of the few that didn't receive Velcro and can't obtain it locally please PM me.
I'm going to make doubly sure no customers are missing these items in future.

Thanks for bringing this back.
I do believe some here are a bit harsh with Muz over the floor mat problem. That was not my intent when I started this string and posted my solution. I do like my mats. My solution works great for me. I was sharing my solution because I don't like the floor pin, nor do I like the idea of velcro, carpet tape or any other sticky substance on my car. In Texas it gets so hot the glue would melt and get in the original carpeting.
I also believe manufacturers can only improve a product with constructive feedback from consumers. Therefore it seems appropriate to share those thoughts in a forum such as this one.
Please be fair with your criticism and give vendors an opportunity to respond. Typically they will do their best to make it right and we get a better product in return. Thanks.

stop complaining,
i read this post earlier this week, and immediately went out and bought the honda civic holder and eyelet, $3.85
one hour later my mat stopped moving.
i can not speak for muz mats but the factory mat with the factory holder and the added civic holder has completely fixed the problem. if you could afford the muz mat i think you can afford $3.85, btw my dealer had them in stock, and as i handed him the piece of paper with the stock # he recognized it and retreived them very quickly.

I purchased the Civic mat holders and grommets as recommended by S2kPilot (thanks).
I installed the mat holder and it looks great. It lines up with the S2000 original on the other side, so it looks very OEM. I'd like to add a couple other tips.
Part #s: This is how they rang up on my receipt.
6205496 CARPET GR 08P15-S01-100G for $.28 ea.
6205504 CARPET HO 08P15-S01-100W for $2.81 ea.
Pattern: I pre-marked the carpet cutting area using white caulk ($.59 for a box at Office Depot). I marked it out using the pattern of overlap per the original side and it looks great.
Holder: In addition to bending the carpet holder to the angle of the floor cross-member, I also used a bench grinder to knock off the ridge at the top so I would have a flush fit on the cross-member. Additionally, I used a file to round off any corners, thus ensuring it would not cut the carpet.
Drilling: It's helpful to have a good starting point so the drill doesn't dance on the strong cross-member. I used a punch to ensure the proper spot. Probably a good wack with a nail would do the same thing. Also, I drilled a very small hole, as I selected the smallest self-tapping screw that I had which had a head big enough to cover the hole in the holder.
Mat marking: This is the critical step. Once the mat holder was solidly installed I covered the head of the mat holder with white
caulk. When you properly position the floor mat the white caulk carries over the under-side of the mat and gives you the exact placement for the hole & grommet.
Grommet: I sent a PM to S2kPilot to ensure I place these on correctly. I'm still awaiting his response (or anyone else who knows the correct method). My wife tells me the sharp pointed side goes on the bottom. I have a small round piece of metal about the size of a quarter that I plan to place on the grommets and tap them together with -- unless someone knows a better method.
I have no doubt this will keep the mats firmly in place.

i also did the same, i took my time measured twice drilled once.
when i finished with the holder i didn't want to screw up a good job by butchering the mat with the grommet, so i took the 2 peice grommet and the mat (already marked) to a auto upolstererer...
i am very happy with the results and it looks oem.

Final report on the Civic mat holders. I stopped by the Honda dealer and they said their Honda rep used a special tool for the grommet recall (I guess that's why they had them in stock). Anyway, I stopped at an auto upholstery shop and they installed the grommets using a tool the peened the lip over - for no charge. I'm glad I didn't try it myself and here's why: I have a 2001 with red mats and he was very concerned the grommet from the Civic was not deep enough (they are smaller than original). It worked ok, but if your not in a hurry I'd order the S2000 grommets. Also, before I took it in I nipped off all the rubber tips that surrounded the hole for the grommet, since I could tell it was going to be a stretch to make the grommets work due to the mats thickness or is that the grommets shortness. Oh well, it works great. Glad I did it.
