I thought you guys were talking about vw beetle owners giving you attitude.

Maybe the hatchback wars are filling their little brains up so much they think a VW would have met my desire for a two seat roadster.

DUBs and Audis are some of the best driving and styled cars on the road. Not to mention, the fit and finish on the exterior and interior is top notch. I would love to own another Audi TT. But the maint. and uncertainty of knowing when and where you're going to break down is not worth the enhanced driving experience. Sure, I miss the sound deadening, instrument panel, and quality of the paint and interior. But it's nice to hop in my little s2k and know that it's going to get me from point A to B without any worries. But if I had the extra $$$ to blow on maint., I'd probably buy another Audi TT or BMW Z4 Coupe.

[QUOTE=TJF,Jan 10 2008, 02:36 PM]Personally, I think anyone who gets married to a single brand isnt a real car guy.

Fit and finish on the interiors of VW's is TOP NOTCH? WTF are you smoking. Build quality on Golf's and Jetta's is terrible.

I hate VW owners. They all think they are the shit, when the reality of it is their shit's weak and their cars are slow.

OMG they can add a chip and make 400 ft lbs at 500 RPM. Big ****ing deal when it only makes 100 ft lbs at 6,000 RPM.

B18C > Any 1.8T garbage out there.

The "dubbers" are just jealous of our import skills.

When we import from our car's home land we get things like ITR's and Mugens. When they import cars they get diesels.

I got my first real flame the other day. Was very funny.
was oddly warm in NY so figured I would go for a drive top down. After driving for a little while I hear someone yell out "Faggot" so I turn around and see some peacock haired guy driving a crappy Suzuki pointing at me and laughing. Was soo damn funny. I have yet to have the infamous VDUB flaming. I had them when I drove my DSM but then I could always back it up and just absolutely obliterate them on the street.( my dsm has around 350whp )

Its funny I had a 2000 VW Jetta GLX (VR6). I loved the engine but the rest of the car was crappy ( it was always in the shop).. anyways when I had the VW, all the Honda people were haters. Always during their ricer burnouts

Then I had a BMW 330CI and then a M3, so guess what the VDub/Audi owners were haters. Maybe a bit mad they could not buy a M3.

Now I have the S2k, and the VDub/Audi owners are the haters (AGAIN)

Me... I just enjoy the car, and have fun...

I think VW Dub owners need to get a life!

I got bored and tried searching the term "S2000" on VWvortex. This is what I came up with: S2000 VR6 engine swap

It's pretty hilarious how a lot of the guys there think their awesome VW Jetta engine is superior to our "anemic" F20 with its "damn Civic 4-banger buzz." When somebody mentions just putting a Lovefab turbo kit on the S instead, another guy even says "it would still have no torque."

I usually try not to get involved with this kind of "brand x vs. brand y" nonsense, but when some guy wants to swap his econo-box engine into a true sports car just because it's made by VW (and therefore must be superior), that pisses me off a little.
