is "flashing to pass" harmful to our HID bulbs?
from what I understand, HID lights require a VERY high voltage draw to relight when they are hot (up to 25,000 volts) but only about 5000 volts when they are cool..
why Honda would make the HID lights come on when the high beams are "flashed to pass" is beyond me though...

Owning a silverstone, I have no choice but to run with my HIDs on during the day. If I don't, every soccer mom on the 210 will try to flatten me daily. This color just blends into the road too well. If anyone has some ideas on a DRL mod, please speak up!
I flash the lights during the day not so much to signal passing intentions, but to either get someone's attention who is trying to get into traffic and let them know I'm letting them in (like at a intersection and someone wants to pull out of a gas station in front of me) or if I'm at speed and see someone stick their nose out from a side street, I'll flash to make sure they see me.
A modification that takes the HID out of the "flash-to-pass" would be great.
Sending out the bat-signal to Modifry, MacGyver...
