Interesting again! Hockey quoted his owners manual on a MY00, listing page number and all. You've got a MY04 and can't seem to find it. Maybe you missed it or "maybe" it's not there anymore. Makes me wonder if this is something Honda addressed on the newer models.

Any of you MY01 thu MY04 owners care to do a little research and report on what you find on this subject?

Thanks for any and all info passed on!

Oh, I totally believe him too. If you did just miss it in your manual, I'd bet it's some six word sentence (Ex: Put spare tire on front Only!) in the middle of the next to last paragraph on page 276 or something.

Let us know what you find!

Straight from my 2000 model year owner's manual, pg. 213......" The size difference may also cause damage to the rear differential, so do not mount the compact spare on the rear. If either rear tire goes flat, remove the front tire on that same side, mount the compact spare tire on the front, then mount the front tire on the rear."
Same quote is on p.221, center section of my 2002 manual.

Ok so does anyone have a good sequence to do this in?

For example, right rear flat...

jack up the front, replace with donut
jack up the rear replace with right front

Is there a problem jacking up the front with a rear flat, damage to the rear rim maybe?

None whatsoever that I can see. You're likely to do a lot more damage to the rim while pulling over to a stop after you begin to feel a problem than you'll ever cause by simply jacking up the front with a flat on the rear. I wouldn't worry about it.
