Flip key option that works?
Mine works fine. I had to shave little bit, where the antenna sits on the remote fob to rear shell but besides that no problem here. It does get stuck little when you key to remove the key. Maybe it was freshly cut? I don't have problem key hitting anything else. I'll try to take some pictures later and post them up.
sorry n00b here, could anyone give me quick definitions of fob, transceiver and programming? and would it be possible to hack an 09 accord key-remote combo to work with the s2000? that one has a trunk button!
After seeing this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200824835177...84.m1497.l2649
I went ahead a purchased the key for like $11 Bucks including shipping.
So finally, the key arrived today. AP1 S2000.
1. I opened the key plastic cover with a saw. After removing the plastic housing, I removed the transponder from the key.

2. I installed the remote fob and the transponder. I wrapped the transponder with a cotton fabric. I also used painter's tape to secure the transponder so that it doesn't fall out from the hole.

3. The other half of the shell that had the key was bit tricky. Since the key was spring loaded, I had to hold the key with one finger while installing the other half of the shell (remote fob). You'll notice that there's a green foam. I added extra padding to keep pressure to the transponder from falling out.

4. All installed and the key cut at home depot. I just paid a key ($2.35), which wasn't a big deal.

5. The key is slightly taller than my Hyundai Tucson flip key. I wish the key was bit smaller but, I'm satisfy not having to carry key + transponder. I think, I'll go ahead and order another key for my spare set. This took me total for 30 mins.

Hope this helps for anyone who wanted to purchase a flip key. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up. I'll do my best to help anyone.

Can you give us an update on how your key fob is holding up?
Just a little wary of tearing apart my key and I read the other treads people got there key stuck or it didn't work(but they might of had a bad locksmith or didn't sand the new key). Also I'm not sure where to get a high quality flip key shell from. I see that you made a chance with ebay but the link is gone and I haven't seen any recommendations.
I have the same flip key as whybshy and I had 2 problems so far.
First, the Honda emblem on the back fell off fairly quickly. That may have been my fault when putting it together, but I don't know.
Second with the key wiggling a bit. It was being loosely held in by a pin on the side spring-loaded part (visible with key half opened). The key couldn't fall out unless it was half opened, so no worries about it getting stuck in the ignition unless the pin came out without the key falling out (unlikely) and without you noticing. I cut a paperclip (it fit better) and epoxied it in the hole. No problems sense then and it's been a few months.
Overall, I'm satisfied.

I never had problem with the key at all. I don't have problem with wiggle with the key or key being stuck. Check in eBay, different vendor is selling the same key. It works fine for me. Others who said the key got stuck is probably a hybrid. Ap2 key hybrid to a housing?????
