you can dremel on the ouside of the key all you want. ^^^^^ i would get wire cutters and start at where the key ring goes through the key. start nipping at the top portion of the key. then go down the side of the key and kind of point the wire cutter almost parallel to the side cutting away at it. youll "feel" where you are hitting the metal. once you nip the sides of the key you can rip open the plastic and the transponder will be in the middle.

hope that helps. ill see if i can post a pic

I'd still like to get a Honda keyfob to work, like TL's switchblade keyfob. I purchased one of the above shown eBay fobs a while ago to experiment with, but the quality was just not there. I then purchased a TL switchblade key in hopes of doing what a previous poster did to get an Accord key to work (by replacing the car's system with an Accord's). It turned out to be a bit too complicated for me. I need an engineering buddy whose well-read on electronics, transponders, and cars.

It won't fit. The TL's pc board is about half the size of the eBay fobs. I looked into hiring an engineer to custom make one that'll work with the S and, due to bulk order requirements, sell the rest off on S2ki. The initial costs were a bit high and the sale of the rest would be too complicated (either I buy or everyone buys their own TL key fob), that I might end up spending ~$3000 just so my key looks nicer and is more convenient.

I was trying to get the same thing like you guys since the TL fob is so much nicer and doesn't feel like it is going to break all the time. I gave it to a electrical engineer friend of mine who thinks he may be able to get eh the TL fob to send out the same frequency that our fob currently does. We shall see though. It seems like a pretty easy thing to make it broadcast the commands at the frequency our car would be able to pick up. I will let you know what he finds.

I'll be the first in line to buy. I already got the TL fob ready.

dont know how you got the one from china to work.

I bought the accord one and s2000 one. made the hybrid as described, got it cut at the dealer, switched the fob into it, put it in the ignition a few times to make sure it went in and out like a glove. car started, ran fine. stopped at the grocery store... key wouldnt come out of the ignition.

after i got home and tested many things, it ended up being the bulk of the body of the key body was too big to allow the key to be pushed in enough to allow me to "push in and turn back" to the release point. had to hit it with a hammer on the end and twist at the exact time to get it out.

30 bucks down the drain, ruined my spare key to get the transponder, a wasted a couple hours. lol

There could be some variation between cars between the threshold of the ignition casing and the depth of the key cylinder. I'm sure you don't want to chance it now, but my key comes out very easily just by folding the key a small amount to find the right amount/position that it comes loose and turn easily.
