Floormat
Meister,
If you want to go off color, I would think a medium grey color mat might be nice against tan, but I have a feeling that black will look pretty cheesy. Think rubber mat...
If I were you, I'd stick with the close tan color. Frankly, anything but stock mats will not match your interior perfectly. And, believe me, I"m not suggesting that you get stock mats again.

Standard Floor Mats are marine grade water resistant carpet. It is a synthetic carpet, slightly coarser than normal. Ideal in damp, wet or snowy climates, well wearing.
Prestige Floor Mats are automotive grade carpet (in the vicinity of $150/metre) manufactured specifically for the restoration of British & German classic, vintage & veteran cars. There are many owners still getting good use out of our prestige floormats after as long as 4 years. The prestige carpet is exceptionally long wearing despite it's plush look, upmarket appearance and softness underfoot.
On either carpet the nap is short enough to allow for a nice 'S' logo to be stitched onto the mat without being obscured.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a question regarding Muz's comments here. The standard mats are said to be "Ideal in damp, wet or snowy climates." Does this mean that they are preferable to the prestige mats in those conditions? Or are the prestige better regardless?
The standard mats are a marine grade carpet. I would suggest the standard mats if your mats regularly get wet. By wet I mean substantially wet.

Along those same lines, are they backed by rubber or something to keep the wet out of the underlying carpet? Winter is approaching fast here in NY
