How odd. Do you hover your left foot all the time, just waiting for a shift, or what?

I keep my left foot on the dead pedal. When I need to shift I use it to step on the clutch, then let the clutch out, then put it back on the dead pedal.

Unless, of course, I have my clown shoes on, then I pivot on my left heel. HPH

My clutch foot is off the ground too when I shift. I tried shifting with my heel on the ground, but I didn't like that at all... I have much more control with my foot "hovering".
whoa, another opeth fan on s2ki! nice avatar. i use that as my buddy icon on AIM.

on topic stuff...i don't keep my heel on the ground when i shift. i feel i have pretty good control that way, but it's possible i'd have more control w/my heel on the ground.

my heel is planted, it helps to wear the right shoes when driving also...(I <3 my Adidas Tuscany GP's)

A hovering foot contributes to driver fatigue, put your foot down, the pedal isn't going anywhere.

I plant my heel, and sit close enough to the pedals to fully depress the pedal. I'll also pivot my toes over to the dead pedal when shifting frequently to quickly go from pressing the clutch to bracing myself, and I move my foot entirely to the dead pedal when I'm not using the clutch.

Opeth FTW!!!

Anyways, back on topic, I don't know how you guys can keep your heel on the ground... I've tried it a few times but the clutch travel is just a little too long for me, even though I wear size 12 shoes.

Maybe we have better flexibility in our ankles.

I've always had my heel planted on the floor and then just used mostly my ankle to operate the clutch. Whenever I'm not shifting, my foot rests on the dead pedal.

Hover, but with 4.77's, I don't hover very long.
