About 9 months ago, I came across a milk crate sitting in the middle of the lane while doing 70 mph on the highway at night.
By the time I saw it, it was too late to avoid it and I hit it head on. I lauched that sucker some 20 feets straight up in the air, while damaging my bimmer's bumper.

Then in our NE meet couple months ago, we encountered a 6x8 plywood on the highway while doing 70 mph+. (Sorry for the painful memory, Glen) One of our members shredded the plywood as he drove right through it, causing many deep scratches on his S.

Since then, I have had 2 more (big) plywood encounters. Luckily I saw it in time to avoid it each time.
Maybe I should look to reside where it's Home Depot-free or something.

Now the question:
What is the most bizzare foreign object you have encountered while driving?

Somewhat off-topic, but I thought it would be fun.

While driving to lunch with my secretary on Jamboree Road, I noticed a car in front of me with some plywood 8x4s tied to the roof. I saw the front of the top plywood sheet lift and bend. I cut off my neighbor to my immediate left and watched as the plywood broke and sailed into the car which was right where I used to be.

While driving down the 710 at about 80, I saw a piece of looked like linoleum doing an immitation of one of those Ninja star shaped weapons, spinning through the air coming right at my windshield. It hit the top left side of my front fender causing a slight dimple.

Last week while cruising PCH in the dark, and changing lanes, I hit something in the road (no idea what it was) which mashed its way under the driver's side of the frame, made a cracking noise under my strake, and then bumped under my tire. My strake is now disjointed. Never saw it, still don't know what it was.

Keep your eyes open.

Not as weird but,

I was enjoying a particularly fun strip of backroad the other day, top down, reving around 7500rpm, flying around corners. Near the end of the road I come around the corner and notice a flock of quail...I get off the gas and I see the flock clear the road...I get on it again and then, out of the corner of my eye, the proverbial stragler. Its too late to swerve so I continue...only a slight, soft thump, but when I look in the rearview mirrorm I see feathers everywhere.. yep I got him. At the stop sign, I pull over to take a look and the majority of the intestines splattered on the lower drivers side of my car. It all came off, but it was definately not the most pleasant thing to remove... just my weird story....

Ugh... bad memory:

Agonizing Horse!

Someone had hit it and it was mid road in northern Mexico.

I was cruising at 70 at 2AM and woa!

Missed it barely in my not so stiff 61 Cadillac. Kept going because if I stopped, I would have been the person that killed the horse in the eyes of the owner, and two, because the horse would have been an invaluable stud in the eyes of the same owner, and three, because I would have been expected to pay for this suddenly invaluable horse.

Sucked though. Can still see the horses expression.
