Formation of KY/So.IN group???
On the last Cincy run, which I missed
, Slewpy or somebody suggested that we break up into two groups - one w/ aggressive drivers and one w/ less aggressive ones. The assumption was that we were going to have as many as fifteen to twenty cars.
Also, the suggestion was that we equip ourselves with the little short range radios that are now pretty inexpensive.
I'd say that both suggestions have a lot of merit, even with a group as small as 10 - 15.
OK - back to putting together a run. I suggest that as many of us as are willing to put in the time check our maps to see what looks like a good run, and then actually drive it to make sure that it is a good route. Slewpy used routes that a Cincy area motorcycle club had put together. I'd bet that other cycle groups have done the same w/in 75 to 100 miles of Louisville. Southern IN and central KY have lots of potentially good routes. Anyway, I'll look into one or more routes myself and, hopefully, I'll be able to report back in a few weeks. I'm gonna be out of pocket this coming weekend and the first weekend of June, so I can't do it any sooner. Maybe we ought to shoot for late June or maybe 4th of July weekend?
BTW - I've updated the list of people in my first post. See above for the new list, which has FORTY-FIVE names.

John, we did use the radios and they were very helpful. We arrived late from Indy and didn't get the groups setup. Some of the drivers would have been in a slower group if we had split the group up.
I did what you recommended and my wife and I drove our run twice. Once by ourselves to familiarize ourselves with the route, so I wouldn't have any surprises when I was leading the drive and also to see where to eat and get an idea how long it would be. The second time was easy and there were no problems. I didn't have any radios and that made a big difference. I wouldn't go on a drive without them, having used them.
I'll also look into what we have available in the southern part of Indiana.

Anyone here pass me on Shelbyville Road Sunday afternoon (near Dorsey)? It was a black S, but passing quickly it looked like it may have had a body kit on it.

P.S. What an awesome day to go tooling around with the top down!

It was a pretty good day to be topless wasn't it? I think that my top is still down. It might stay that way all week.

That sounds like Crockey's car. He has an RM racing spoiler on the front. Did it have a dark back window, also?

Truth be known, the fenders *looked* flared, even though I suspect they weren't. My guess is that they looked that way because I'm not accustomed to seeing that many S2000's on the road around here. Other than the one in my parking lot at work, that's the first one I've seen around Louisville in over a week. On the plus side, he was friendly enough to wave.
