Changing the oil with a 9 year old son is always a 4 hour project, fumoto valve or not. The steps involved are as follows:
1. Take top down and start engine. Tell son to fasten seat belt as you have to drive the car to heat up the oil.
2. Stop at Toys R Us and look for the perfect toy for the little helper.
3. Get back in car start engine and head home.
4. Stop at McDonalds (or Burger King) and have lunch with son. Auto mechanics have to eat to do a good job.
5. Get back in car, start engine and head home.
6. Decide it is such a nice day that you have to drive for another 15 minutes to make sure the oil is really heated up.
7. Arrive home.
8. Have son take out all of the tools, even some you don't need.
9. Loosen oil filter and have son unscrew it and remove it.
10. Clean oil spills resulting from son removing oil filter.
11. Place pan under car. Open Fumoto Valve.
12. Have a chocolate bar with son while oil is draining.
13. Close valve, put new oil filter on. Let son tighten filter. Retighten it yourself.
14. Let son get oil but pour it in yourself. One cleanup a day is enough.
15. Check dipstick. Start engine. Check dipstick again. Ask son's opinion.
16. Put tools away, close hood. Take son to Dairy Queen or Hagen Das for being such a good helper.
17. Tell everyone what a good helper son is and how fast the job was done because he helped.
Never fear the Fumoto Valve doesn't crimp our style.
