Pete, I got dinged by a small rock up near the top of the a-pillar. The crack spread from the point of impact and it's now about 8-9 inches long.

I can't WAIT to get rid of this pitted windshield...I think Honda could have chosen better/stronger glass for this car. But in addition to that, the rake of the glass makes it prone to pick up debris, as others have pointed out here.

Your insurance policy should cover one replacement (I think annually) without paying a deductible, but your mileage may vary. I am going to be talking to mine soon about a replacement. Sondra had hers replaced by glass made by PPG, it was AWESOME to be able to drive around and not see a constellation map on your damn windshield!

I've only had my s2k for 4 months and a little over 5k miles and the windshield has minuscle pits ALL OVER.

I'd say that's because Honda used poor quality glass, so I do blame Honda for it, even though they don't cover replacement by warranty.

And, hey!...that's a much better story for the insurance agent than "got hit with a chunk of brick"...[winks towards airgate] ...

Anyone tried weighing the PPG vs the Honda one? or done a side by side comparison of clarity? Does the PPG one have tinted strip at the top of the windshield? Does the PPG have the same heat rejecting tint as the OEM one?
