Default Front Bumper: Repair or Replace

Front bumper was taken out by some road debris yesterday. (Actually just the LH corner outside the headlight.) A repair shop quoted $850 to "repair" the bumper, replace the wheel well liner which partially melted from contact with the tire on impact, and a very small tweak on the left fender. Since a brand new OEM is just over $300 and I'm assuming the plastic liner is not expensive, is it better to just buy the bumper, have it sprayed and just assemble it myself....the fender tweak would have to be fixed by a body shop. The body shop today said that matching the paint varies and even with the small fender dink the whole fender had to be repainted. He said it was better to preserve the old bumper since only a small portion of the bumper would be repainted to avoid color variation. Any thoughts especially by members that have replaced bumpers OEM or aftermarket and had them painted? Also any thoughts on where to purchase a new OEM 04 bumper? Any replies appreciated.
