front license plate display solutions
does anybody have any cool or unique ways to display their front license plate? please post pics of you have any. I'm getting a custom license plate that is best appreciated on the front of the car (for reasons that will be made obvious later).
I saw some people have a triangular piece of metal that angles the bottom of the plate into the "mouth" which looks pretty cool, but doesn't quite work for my custom plate (I want it easily seen). a rectangular (normally angled) version, or one that slightly angles the top of the plate back, I might be interested in however. who sells these, btw?
also, I've seen some people put the front plate inside the mouth, but I kinda like to get as much airflow to my motor as possible, so that option is out. I'm going to forego any kind of frame, and am even considering shaving down the edges (I think jedwards or e_ticket suggested this idea to me at our last meet). has anybody shaved the outer edges of their license plates? I'm guessing that so long as the stickers and all necessary info displays well enough, that modifying the plate is ok.
some of the ideas I was thinking of are:
1) drilling two holes in the middle of the plate and mounting it to the stock mounting holes. it might look kinda cool, and might function as a little wind deflector to help direct debris away from my windscreen. has anybody done anything like this?
2) getting two small rubber or plastic spacers (1/4") to just lift the plate off the bumper. I don't want it scraping my bumper in any way.
any and all innovative bracket or other display solutions are appreciated!
