Yes it will help, you can see anywhere from 10whp to 30whp (depending on the size).
I recommend a 24x12x4 along with a K&N filter.
You might need to upgrade your lug nuts though, stock ones aren't rated for the amount of torque your going to make.

^^^ MY GAWD! That is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen anyone bolt onto a car. Does he realize that with the filter being where it is, if he simply had a straight pipe instead of that intercooler, he would get the SAME temp of air going to the engine?
In fact, he may be getting air that is a little hotter due to the radiant heat coming from the radiator.
