Fuel level affecting performance?

I guess what he is asking is, does the ECU lean out the mixture
of fuel when the car is low as a means to conserve until the tank is full again?

No, more gas in the tank does not increase performance.

Air temp and humidity can have large effects on performance however.

It could be more of a case of WHEN you are filling up for example in the morning when air temps are cooler.
