Just realize that all 13.2 (or whatever) gallons aren't useable.
But yes, gas gauges are just getting stupid these days. If you can go 75 miles after it's on E, why is the gauge even there? I personally would love a car that stopped running RIGHT when the fuel bars were gone. That way, I actually know when to fill up.
Think about this logic with any other gauge. What if your speedo read 15 MPH fast, just to prevent you from speeding?

My take is that Honda assumes you are racing or autocrossing and under those conditions they want you to know fuel starvation could be an issue when the light comes on. If you are just driving around or cruising you've got more time.
Dont know if you can damage the fuel pump or injectors etc. by running out of gas and I don't want to find out. I do know FI cars don't always start easily when run dry.

i fill up on 1 or 2 bars just to make sure i dont mess up my fuel lines/pump. i guess i could pushed it a bit further but im sure it will do some damage w/ a high preformance engine like the s2k's.
on another note Im sure its not a big issue w/ cars that are max 5 yrs old but w/ older cars you always fill up to keep the tank from rusting when ur car is gonna be sitting a while. well so i heard...

Last week I let the fuel gauge drop to one bar on and the car seems to refuse to go past 4k rpm after a while. Would if make a difference if your supercharged? Does there need to be a minimal amount of gas in your tank to maintain fuel pressure?
