Are you sure about those numbers? I thought that 3db was a doubling in power, so 15 db would be much more than 4 times louder.

I thought it was 6db to double the sound, but I looked it up and you are correct. 3db will double the sound.

That said, 10db is considered to subjectively double the sound - I went between the two, I guess (unintentionally, mind you).

Yup - permanent hearing damage in under five minutes for sure (unprotected). Might be loud enough to do permanent damage in two minutes...

The way that I got the car to stay happy is to make it think that the cat was a super duper one.. I left the second O2 sensor hooked but reading fresh air.

Another think to consider is the carbon monoxide gas will be exiting right underneath the car which might not be a good thing in traffic with just the header on might be ok with the cat but would not want to take health risk for a few more Hp gain JMO.

a 14.3 in a GTS with just an oepn exhaust???

Hmm, i know one guy hits high 13's with stripped interior and bolt ons (w/ lsd). My gts was pretty built as well and the lowest i hit was 14.5 (w/ interior). What mods did you have?
