I always fill it up around 11 gallons, and the gas light went on after about 250miles drive.
never try to find out if it will empty the fuel tank at about 300miles drive.
I dont recommand anyone try that too

I also heard that never should let fuel level drop below 1/4.
dont know why

yeah, my dad's 740i is the same. i like the idea of knowing how much time i have left before i need to fill up the tank, but it's not always acurate. when you get around 5 miles left, it starts jumping up and down.

you really go all the way to only 5 miles Left!!!

I think it starts to jumping up and down is because press the gas pedal hard and release when too less fuel left.

how many miles can you guys go on a full tank of gas? Mine is about 220-230 miles before my gas light comes on. I checked my tire pressure today and it was about 34 psi. Its supposed to be about max 44 psi. Do you think this is the reason i'm getting bad mileage? I'm going to go put some more air in my tires tomorrow.

The first time my gas light came on, I had one bar left. It ran out of gas less than .5 miles away! I don't mess with that anymore... when it gets down to 2 bars, I get gas, period!

The gas guage on the S2K is so inaccurate. I had 2 bars on the guage and decided to go crusing at the beach. Got to the beach and all the bars are gone. I decided to come back home to fill up and was really worried about running out of gas. I get to the gas station and put in 10 or 11 gallons. I had plenty of gas left. But like Sondra, I now fill up at 2 bars.
