They don't obstruct my view at all, I wasn't exactly sitting up straight when I took the picture that were taken from the seat.

I think you mean 900-1300 degrees C. 1300 seems VERY high to me. I have heard that anything above 1150 or so means the engine is running too hot which can equate to some toasted exhaust valves among other things. I'd say you're running too lean under boost.

Yes I meant to say 900 - 1,300. I just took the car out and saw 1,400 cruising in 6th at 83 MPH. I'm going to call the installer (they did my SC too) and talk with them about the Temp. One thing he did say was that he wanted to put the temp in the pistion #3 exhaust because it always seems to be hottest in Hondas.

I did a better job watching the Air/Fuel and would have to say that it stood at around 12:1 at WOT.

So how much boost does this SC actually put out?

It's measuring at 5 lbs. I was surprised to see that the gauge only shows boost at wide open throttle. I just always assumed it was usually boosting, just not as much. It seemed like it was 5lbs of bost or none. Maybe this is the characteristics of a SC and I'm just not aware.

I don't know which check valve you have but my understanding is that it takes 3lbs just to open it and allow increased fuel flow. That may be why you get 5 or nothing. The newest one (to be installed tomorrow) opens with only 1lb of boost. It may make a difference or maybe I'm just clueless about these things.

Ahh, that's probably what the package notice was about - my new (again) check valve. Would be interesting if the numbers change after installing.

One thing that bothers me about the SC setup: there is an idle-controlled bypass valve that relieves the pressure in the tube between the SC and TB during idle... I check the vacuum line that opens/closes that valve and it has good a good vacuum at idle AND higher rpms...

This would mean that our intake manifold is almost never seeing full boost because of the recirculation valve being open. If I were to get rid of that valve and stopper the port off the SC/TB tube, that would be a test. It would also preheat the air into the TB (due to compression) and maybe cause detonation...

What do you think SC-ers?
