Hi guys! Just wanted to know the max speeds that we can carry on each of the 6 forward gears (backward gear? I don't have to find that out coz Lips2000 figured that out for all of us... 48mphs right Lips? (-: )

I did research the board first if there was someone that posted this same question before... so, I'm covered.

Thanks in advance for the response.

I guess I used an incorrect search string. I was looking for "gear speed" and it did not have that thread in to. Thanks joe, my hero!

That's okay. I think everything has been covered. Some of these guys were here a year before me and I got "THE SEARCH" answer all the time.

Just from memory the gears are spaced something like this:
1st = 69km/h
2nd = 105km/h
3rd = 144km/h
4th = 186km/h
5th = 223km/h
6th = 256km/h

I know I have asked this before but has anyone actually had their S2000 up to 166? I saw another post where someone claimed 170. I noticed car and driver ESTIMATED top speed at 150. Although I haven't had mine quite that fast, it appears it should go around 160 + unless it cuts out at high speeds.

Also, Car and Driver listed the 1/4 mile at 5.2 - 6.2. Anyone have any quarter mile numbers they have achieved?

These are the max speeds in each forward gear while hitting the limiter.

1st:45 mph
2nd:70 mph
3rd:98 mph
4th:125 mph
5th:150 mph
6th:?????

Can anyone confirm this?
