Getting back into S2k, opinions?
I'm looking to buy an S2000 for myself. A few years back my dad had one (2002 model year) and I felt it was a blast to drive. Unfortunately he sold it, and I was too young to buy my own. We had an account on here, but I have forgotten the account name, and everytime I try to recover my password using e-mail address, it says I entered the security code wrong
Anywho...I've been eying 2006 s2000's, as I'm looking to spend around $20k on a car which will be a daily driver. I live 12 minutes from my workplace so putting mileage on the car is of no concern. Mostly back roads as well, which is why I'm interested in the 2006's because they have the stability assist.
And, of course, the stability assist is why I'm asking this question: Is it really worth it? I'm not looking to speed on the road, there are plenty of legal locations for that without worrying about hitting a tree. And a lower model year is, obviously, much cheaper.
And to add to my anxiousness, I cant find any local '06 S2k in Laguna blue, but I have found a few white ones, I'm so close to pulling the trigger.
Or I could just be completely practical and buy an '06 Audi A4.
Thanks for any responses with some good information. I've been running searches all week trying to reacquaint myself.

Welcome back. Get the 06 for a daily driver. The VSA is worth it, IMHO. An 06 A4 would be super boring. You have the rest of your life for 4-door heavy luxury sedans. Just find a nice girl with an SUV and you're set!

Nothing wrong with the white ones.
If I settle on white I could be driving the car next week. But I may wait it out to see if I can find a blue one, or even red.

as far as vsa mehhh if your a good driver you dont need it.
IMHO, that's like saying: if you're a good driver, you don't need a seat belt.
NTHSA data showed that VSA / ESP decreased single car accidents by 40% and fatalities in those accidents by 50%.
I haven't been in a car accident for a long time. Does that mean that I didn't need to wear my seat belt?
VSA increases the daily driving functionality in inclement weather without having to concentrate like a rally driver.

I also love Laguna Blue, but I'm not sure I'd like all the attention, haha. I love black cars anyway and it seems to fit my personality better. My top 3 choices when I get an AP2 are Berlina, Grand Prix, and Laguna if I'm feeling saucy, lol.
[QUOTE=CKit,Jul 11 2009, 05:56 PM] My opinion, couldn't disagree more.
