I just wanted to reply back to this thread because I will be picking up my 2006 Silverstone S2000 with black & red interior on Saturday.

I went silverstone because I really fell in love with the darker grey and the two tone interior was incredible. Also the price was very, very good. I also got 3.9% financing at the dealer.

I did also test drive a Laguna Blue, but felt very strange inside. I think the color was just a little too bold for me. I'm not the type who looks for attention.

picking a color is a tough choice, I'm glad I got one in the color I wanted, I think you'll be very happy with your choice.
congrats on your purchase, and don't forget to post some pics when she comes home!!

Yeah, that's true. My cousin left his '08 350Z at my house for the rest of the year while he went back to Houston (it's a long story; probably explain it more some other time), and I drove his 350Z for a day instead of my Stacey because my cousin said that it's okay if I want to drive his car around whenever I feel like it.
The 350Z was fun to drive the first hour or so when I was pulling away from all sorts of cars at red lights due to the vass amount of torque available throughout the power band; however, the "should-I-daily-drive-this-car-over-my-Stacey?" question was answered once I took the 350Z through some twisties and realized that the car, though has decent handling for a 3500 lb sports coupe, isn't as fun-to-drive as my Stacey.
I haven't driven the 350Z since that day, which was a little over a week ago.
Also, even while driving casually, the car had trouble getting past 20 mpg, whereas I can average 22+ mpg with my Stacey in all city driving even while hitting VTEC a few times for fun.

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy the car.

I've never regretted my purchase. It's a blast to drive hard or to just cruise in, it's taught me how to drive (better), and it's very low maintenance for such a fun toy car.

Looks like the purists are back. VSA is a nice feature, it's there when you need it in inclement weather as long as you're not driving bad enough to where it won't save you no matter what. If you go to the track or autocross, you can turn it off. If you're complaining that VSA will make you a bad driver then you shouldn't be driving so crazily on public roads. Turn it off at the track and learn the limits of your S there.

As for choosing a color/year... please do NOT rush to get an S2000. Wait until you find the one you want and then go for it. Don't be afraid to venture out of your local area to find what you want. A couple of us, including myself, flew to other states to get the S we wanted.

+1
flew to atlanta to pick up mine.

VSA shouldn't have any influence on your decision. nice to have, but not really necessary, imo. drive like a civilized adult on the street and you'll have no problems. and don't drive on bald tires.
