Getting to know my S
So I just finished up (mostly) my stereo install today and as I was putting everything back together, I had the stereo on. It was a beautiful AZ day and I was pleased with the results of all the time spent on the install.
Well, after a little while the sound starts cutting out and shifting from left to right, all kinds of wierd stuff starts happening. I immediately thinkg, OMG my amp must be overheating. So I try to pop the trunk...well nothing. Every tiime I hit the button, the sound goes out completely. Now I'm thinking WTF? So I turn everything off and get the trunk open, feel the amp...cold....hmmmm. Then it dawns on me....
I don't know how much time had passed but the battery was drained. I tried to start the car and got that nice little click. So I got to jump start the S for the first time today! Wierd...I guess that battery is really small but I've never killed a battery listening to the stereo like that before. Oh well...I think I was just so engrossed in taking care of my baby, that I forgot about the time!
Oh, somthing else I found out today: the turn signal circuit is linked to the hazard button in the center console (naturally). But no turn signals without that hazard button plugged in. Didn't realize that they wouldn't work at all. So don't be like me and drive without the center console in. You look pretty funny using hand signals in an S
Cheers!
