It wasn't racial at all, I just think he wasn't quite with it. I told a couple of people here at work about it and they fell out laughing. Yeah If I got a ticket and decided to go to court I probably could get off on a technicality. The cop was actually cool he wasn't like some that are out to prove a point.

That sucks you got pulled man. I drive home on part of rt 7 everyday.....(the section from tysons to baron cameron in reston)...IMO the cops on that road have been increasingly pulling people over lately...seems like some sort of speeding crackdown.

That's kinda messed up about all that, and kinda funny...at least you just got a warning!! Hehe.

That's absolutely HILARIOUS! Maybe the cop was just trying to avoid coming off as racist by putting a "W". Or perhaps color blind. Kudos on getting off with a warning.

I have lived here for 30 years, and always thought excessive noise meant really over the top, not just noisier than stock. I have owned a lot of cars that were very loud, including a 454 LS6 Corvette with side pipes, but since that was a factory option, I guess I would have had a defensible position.

I do not recall your saying which exhuast you have - it must be very loud for him to have even noticed you.

I would think this would be a very easy ticket to beat had it been more than a warning - how would he know what the standard factory exhuast note is? Without a reference or a measurement device, it is arguable you had an illegal stop.

You might also check to see if your exhuast mfr makes silencers - you could plop them in and then get a cheap SPL meter and baseline the idle on both with a VCR.

For me, for "race," I'd have him put down:

"Track, not street."

or "H"

for human.

Last time I checked, we're all the same species.

Why does a traffic ticket need a "checkbox" for race? Are there different limits based on genetics?

I don't list "race" on my charts of my patients. It has no practical value in that context because we're all such a genetic hodge podge. How could it possibly be a sensible bit of information on a traffic ticket!

I'm sorry you got picked on.

I'm requred by law to have a "front plate" in Wyoming, but this is as close as I get:

I dont know how the courts are around his area.. but this area SUCKS. i've never had one friend go to court on an altered exhaust ticket & have the judge drop it. in va beach/norfolk/chesapeake area cops and judges are PRICKS towards hooked-up imports

I read something recently about a law that congress passed several years ago about keeping up with a person's race during a traffic stop. The idea was to build up some data & check for racial profiling. Unfortunately, many police have not being following the law & recently something was said about it.

The cop may have marked "W" so as not to appear to be racial profiling or it could just be a mistake.
