I am a new owner and went through the search a few months ago. I had some experience on e-bay that may help. Bid an amount you would be glad to pay and no more. Be prepared to walk away if the bid goes over your price. I would suggest something near $26,000 or a bit over. Ignore the reserve and don't try to chase it.
A lot of e-bay car auction deals fall through for various, frequently legitimate reasons. Some dealers set reserves too high and regret it when the car doesn't sell. If you are even close to the top bid you may get an e-mail after the auction offering you a second chance because the top bidder could not complete the deal. At minimum you can contact the seller after the auction and tell him you are interested if the deal fails. I've had dealers contact me and offer the car for less than their original reserve after I was second or third high bidder.
Be patient. There are always more cars coming up. Good luck. That's a good looking ride.
Slightly off topic, but in my opinion, if you plan to keep the car, don't get too hung up on low mileage. Really low miles (<3,000) seems to get a premium on these cars. After a few years and 60-80K miles, what difference does 3-4K mean? I think not much. Personally, I'd just as soon have one that was driven normally and not improperly stored or neglected.
Good luck. This post is too long.
