Default Getting an S2000 today... (Pics added!)

K me and my dad have been looking for a car for me for a while...First of all, no I'm not buying the car, and I know that I am very fortunate for this. I go to college right now but in the summer's I work 40 hours/week taking home like $700-800/week so if I had to buy my own car, I would. I used to have a Honda Accord that I put my heart and soul into...bought the car for $4000 in late 2001, put a ridiculous amount of money into it, then just recently sold it for $3000, which was kindof a bummer. My dad and I started looking for a car a while ago, starting with newer Honda Accords and Subaru Legacy's and cars like that...then it jumped up to Impreza 2.5 RS' and VW Passats and Audi A4's...and my Dad was in Seattle on business and he saw a Honda S2000 and was like "What do you think of those cars?" and I told him the usual...convertible, RWD, 240 hp, six speed, quick little car. And so he tells me to find him one in Seattle or Spokane (where I am originally from) so that's what I've been doing for the past 2-3 weeks, I've been on here every day for at least a couple of hours reading up on performance upgrades, regular maintainance, etc...and he also told me to look at Lexus IS300's and Subaru WRX's...and I know that a WRX would be more practical, with more room and AWD, but I have always been a huge S2K fan and I would love one more than anything...And my dad is looking at one in Spokane right now...2001, silver (what is the silver paint code?), aftermarket exhaust and the guy says it was put on my Honda, so thats good...aftermarket stereo, 51k miles, and the price tag was $22,995 at the dealer but the thing had been sitting on the lot for a while and now that it's October they dropped it down to like $17,500. It's about 99% that I'm gonna get it so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed!

Just make sure daddy pays for the insurance too, 'cause it'll cost more than the payments.

As you've already learned: mods don't increase the value of the car. Save your money.

Yeah I know insurance is gonna be a bitch, he hasn't said anything to me about it yet but if he wants me to pay it I will. And I dont think I'll be modding the car much, the car already has a well tuned engine, exhaust/intake will be fine for me. And it's official, my dad text messaged me and said "come get it" so I'm gonna pick it up in a couple of hours and then drive it back down to school...So excited! It's got black powdercoated wheels too (on the stock 16's), they look pretty good in the pics.

Congratulations. If you're driving the car to school peer group envy will be it's worst enemy. Keep a close eye on it.

insurance isn't that bad. i pay $467 for 6 months full covereage via IDRIVE ($500/$1000 deductible) about $50 more than my Civic.

have fun and get use to the RWD before you push it
