As another member stated, you are very patient or she is very hot. I would've definitely stopped trying after the incident getting out of the driveway.

I was lucky, I had taught my fiance on my prelude and she did pretty well. She drove that car for a couple years and then I let her drive my S after I traded the Lude. I was pretty sure she would be fine so I wasn't surprise when she drove the S pretty well. Still have to give warnings when she is hitting the corners too fast cuz she doesn't really know what to do if she fishailed.

Alright, I'll take a stab at saying something useful, though it won't solve the riddle of the "weird noise."

Sounds to me like your girlfriend needs 30 minutes of classroom education to understand what's happening behind the clutch pedal, brakes, and throttle. Try to memorize vs understanding are two very different things.

Compare it to math. Think you could memorize how to do every mathmatical equation out there, or is it ultimately easier to learn how do the math in any situation?

Teach her what shoes doing mechanically and have her use her hands on the table with three pieces of paper representing the pedals. Have her mimic her feet and describe what she's doing with them. She can think things through slowly without the "pressure" and will likely be better able to translate her thoughts into motions when in the car.

Or she's just hot and dumb, and that's good enough.

we both agreed that she's not driving it again haha. she stalled 10 times in a row because she wasnt giving it any gas when letting off the clutch. I kept telling her to give it some gas but she'll let off the clutch before giving gas. I was a little frustrated that she wasnt listening to my advice when im teaching her how to drive.

I guess she was scared of launching it and wont be able to find the brake pedal again. haha i think she was traumatize by the driveway incident.

Im going to go to a shop today and get it checked out. I think i might be just worried for no reason, could stalling do damage to the engine?

I'm going to try teaching her that way, mickycb. that sounds like the best way to teach someone, well someone like her. She kinda learns slow and just does her own thing.

Everyone's reply makes me feel a lot better. Thanks for cheer up

We all have to learn somewhere. The best thing you can do for your GF is to take a trip far into the the middle of no where. Take her phone, all her money, and her shoes. Run away while leaving your s2k running. Either she learns or she blows the tranny. You'll be suprise how people learn under pressure. Also tell her theres a killers on the loose. Good luck
Hahaha that'll work... life or death situation. The only major damage I can think of from stalling so much is just wearing the starter quicker becaues you're constantly starting the car so much but I think it might just be your imagination. Our cars make a lot of noise

Today the clutch felt a little softer than usual. The gearbox felt a little smoother? There was a weird noise coming from the engine and a hissing noise once? i might be going

im sure its fine

MikeyCB has a good point. A big part of learning how to drive stick is the instructor. One thing is knowing how to drive it, but another is trying to explain it. Not everyone's got the art of teaching . I've taught 4 ppl how to drive stick in my s2000, including a 17 year old girl that had failed miserably at learning with a few other ppl. And yes, my clutch survived just fine along with my agressive driving style.

Of course you're gonna have some peps out there that most likely won't ever fully learn how to drive stick, and don't care. As for me however, my success rate is pretty high
