HighwayHottie Posted on Oct 26 2004, 11:07 AM At first when I got my S2000 I just wanted to change the appearance, but when I drove it for a few weeks I wasn't happy with its performance. Don't get me wrong, it still performs well, but I was raised around cars (thanks to my dad and brothers) and I just want a better performance. I still don't know much about the car, but that's why I'm researching! DUH! My main goal is to just change the appearance. Also, I asked my boyfriend about that cold ass comment he told me, and he said he was just "playing around" but also looking out for my safety. I know of the dangers of working on a car, and I'm well prepared to handle them!
We'll If you want better performance out of it and you got the $$$ buy a turbo or super charger do it. If your going to take the car to the track alot buy a turbo it's way better than a super charger. If you want the instant HP for racing on the street light to light get the super charger it's better for short races no turbo lag.

If you want to change the appearance for the car I think you should get the veilside kit it loos bad ass. it's just my opinion

Right now I'm fixing up my baby and doing the interals for it. I'm probably planning to add a Votech Super charger to my car and build up the hp slowly if 348 hp is not good enough for me then I'll up grade some stuff so i can run higher boost.

I think you got it backwards. Supercharger has its advantages on the track- no instant bump in power makes it eaiser to drive especially thru turns. Turbo gives you more low end than a centrifugal supercharger. Actually a turbo, if tuned properly, is going to give you more power throughout the band. The veilside kit is a$$ btw.

The t/c and s/c both lags, because of the fact that the s/c isn't a root type s/c instead it is a centrifugal s/c which is somewhat like a turbo.

The hood and the trunk on the s2000 are aluminum. In order to install the CF hood, I've been told, you need to upgrade the hinges. Which negates any weight savings (if there were any to start off with). I've hear the head dissipation factor with the vents does help with performance, but we're not really tracking these cars every day, all day. And IMHO, it only looks good on a Berlina.

My advice : take the car out to a few track days, go out and do some Autocross and get to know the car first before you make any mods. The S might feel a bit slow at first due to the lack of low-end torque, but you get used to it and learn to appreciate the superior cornering ability of our cars.
im pretty sure the trunk is NOT aluminum...

I think I read that somewhere. Even if it's not true, maybe it prevents one more person from getting a CF trunk, cuz they look like ass on any other color other than Berlina.

I agree, it looks good on berlina, but the contrast of CF on GPW is stunning! WHITE IS TIGHT!
