Going to look at an S2000 CR
I'm going to go take a look a new CR on Saturday. I'm currious to hear other's thoughts about going with the CR vs. 'base' model (hard to call an S2000 'base'). I know the differences mechanically and on paper, but what else should I consider?
I, like the rest of you, am a big car enthusiast. I do not particpate in auto-x or track days as of yet. However, I do plan on getting involved in these events as soon as I possibly can. Whatever car i get will be used as a daily driver and a track/auto-x toy...
Thanks for your thoughts

daily driver AND track/auto-x toy?
the CR is not set up to be a daily driver really. the tires are extremely expensive and wear out fast, the hard top requires some effort to put on/ take off and obviously you can't do it if you get a sudden unexpected shower and you're already on the road. the suspension is stiffer, although thats not really a huge complaint. the body effects will stand out a bit too...
but thats just about your taste.
my 2 cents... go base model. go used, too, if you want to save a little extra money.

I dunno, I would buy a CR for a daily.
Now, my car is loud, low, and sitting on coilovers and I daily drive it so....I would say it depends on your preferences. If you like a soft, plush ride in your daily the CR would be a poor choice (the S2000 in general wouldn't be a great choice if you like a marshmallow soft ride).
I personally am not a huge top down fan, and I love a nice firm ride so the CR would work well for me

The top on/top off deal killed the CR for me... I live in Florida and when it rain, well, it rains and rains a lot... otherwise the CR with air and radio would be a sweet ride... wish I had one but the base version ain't too shabby and, as near as I can tell... a few bucks, a couple of after market parts catalogs, and a little wrenching on your part can give you something a little better with an up and down top to boot!
