i know most people here are saying to just run over an animal if your about to hit, but i think alot of the times is just like a reflex, if somethings in front of you, move out of the way. its happened to me alot of times but at slower speeds...
That is exactly what im saying. When you think about it, you say, ya you should hit it but when you are doing 70 and a racoon is less than 100 feet from you, its a different story.

first of all, very glad that ur alright. when it comes to accident, definitely look optimistically that ur not injured instead of looking at the destroyed car

i really dislike these animals too.
once i was driving i saw a squirrel crossing the street (man it happens very often here in Canada, I think animals in canada are dumber).
anyways I try to avoid it by swerving bit to the right but guess what the squirrel also runs right also. Got me frustrated so i accelerated and ran it over and heard a loud scream under my car.

What happend to the racoon? The story isn't complete for me until I know if totalling you car actually saved the racoon.

I've missed a lot of animals, including deer, but I think my reflexes are trained to hit the animal instead of another car or spining out. Hopefully I never get to confirm this...

I actually hit the racoon but mother****er got up and walked again in the middle of highway while cars were coming. At this point, i was scared for my life of gettin hit by another spinning car in the same situation as me.

The racoon died at last when we went back to the accident scene and found the racoon dead with a blood pool on the ground. he bled to death. oh well. he deserved a slow death.

Im kinda happy that sucker died. Trust me, if i had a baseball bat or anything like that in my trunk that night, i woulda beaten the brains outta that racoon. I got no heart for anything that causes me pain. I literally woulda kept hittin it until i saw brains ooze out. then i woulda taken a picture and posted it here.
