Speaking of Sad road kill, this past summer I saw a dead goose on the side of the road with it's live mate waiting by the corpse. Then I thought about how geese mate for life and all. Ruined my whole day...

for future man, you gotta run animals over unless you are 99.9% certain you can avoid an accident by swerving. Your insurance will charge you with an at fault accident for what you did. But hitting an animal is NOT considered at fault because the animal is a variable you cannot control. But you can control not swerving into a wall or whatever you hit. Unless you are staring down a 500 lb deer at 70mph, hit the animal next time. Glad you are ok, a car is replaceable.
