that seems really high, but the mileage is really low so I dunno. it looks like it's in great shape from the pics...how's the paint? It almost looks tooo good. Good luck, whatever you decide.

I don't think KBB.com has caught up with the economy. I've seen similar cars advertised for under $14k from private parties.

I just ran a 2003 with 30k at retail pricing and it came up as $15,375.

thanks guys for the great responses.. exactly what i was looking for..

i will go back to the dealership tommorow and i'll be paying no more than 15k for the car.

as far as buying from a private seller, i really wish that i could but i have a car that i want to trade in and which i still owe some money so wish me luck hope i get the price i want.

Let us know how it goes. Don't let them screw you on the value of your trade.

I'm in the market right now for an S2000 as for my daily driver and i found this 2003 with only 30,xxx miles, clean title, one owner and was a lease vehicle and adult owned, i went to check out the car and test drove it and everything seems fine, the soft-top is free of any tears/rips and the interior is i would say about 9/10 except for a minor 1-inch scratch on the dash which is unheardly recognizable..

now the dealer is askin 16,975 for the vehicle and the KBB.com says that the car is worth atleast 18,340 for suggested retail value.

Should i talk them down or buy it as is.. here is the link for photos of the said vehicle..

link for photos

any comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
you say it's a 2003 and it was leased? never heard of a lease for that many years.

i just bought an 03 with 65k miles and the car only had one tiny scrape 1 cm long on the front bumper under the license plate mount holes and i bought it for $12k. kbb and my insurance co valued it at $17.5k! so i agree if you wait a little longer you should be able to find an individual seller going way under retail value and you can get a real deal.

I bought my '03 Silverstone with 36k on the clock for 14,900.00 last September. The dealer was asking 16,500.00. I'd bet you can talk them down. Or find another one for around that.
