Good paint Vs. Bad?
I am about to get my car back from a full spa pearl repaint and was wondering what areas or what I should check to make sure it's an excellent job vs. a mediocre one?
Obviously check for paint smoothness but anyone w/ any input or experience?
Thanks.

Multi color on different pannel. How thick the paint is. The clear coat. How they color sand the paint also. A lot but you can really tell the differences when you see it. It has luster also. I dunno how to check if paint process. Like how many coats, base, primer, clear coat, and flex paint. But it play key parts in how long the paint will last.
I'll take a look at your car when you get it back. I can tell if they did a good or half-assed job on the car. As long as it doesn't look like the nasty finish it had when you first bought the car, then that in itself will be a blessing..
You may also want to check your labels in the door jam. See how they masked these off and feel for a lip of paint by running your finger over it. Check for overspray on all rubber, glass, grill, muffler, windshield sprayers and light lenses.
Also check your emblems and make sure they are on correctly. Check your exterior key holes as well.

Make sure they cleared the jams and get down low (lay on your back) and look up to make sure lower portions were done correctly. Check to make sure everything that should have been cleared...was cleared. Get some touch up paint too. Ask how long until you can wax her again.

Check for any oversprays.. where you'll have spray on somethign that wasnt suppose to be sprayed (ie. window trimmings)
as well, check for runs in the clearcoat. i've always seen it happen around curves in the bumpers.

Check for lips or high spots in the paint around the edges of the body panels. For example, the front fender dips down and goes flat before the gap between it and the hood. Wet paint can pool on the edge of the panels giving it a beaded look.
Ah, I see.. I'll definitely get all that checked when I get it back this week and yeah, I'm positive it'll be alot better than whatever I had before.
Thanks and I'll be sure to post some pics in the pic section of the shiny new yellow car
