Default got a bs ticket

i just got a ticket for following too closely on a highway patrolman
i was coming off the higway and u have to hit a ramp exit to get on the road
i went in a lil too fast and saw the cop mid-turn i let off the accelerator ever so slowly to slow down the rate of acceleration throughout the turn to prevent rear ending him.
well u get the picture of what happens next. when we both came out of the turn
lights on "license and registration."
should be easy to get dropped right?

Unless you can somehow prove that you were a certain distance behind him, I don't see how you can fight it.

i'm not exactly sure how things are in NC>. but here in VA, cops are strict as anything about following to closely. from what i understand, in this area. there's no fighting it

Contact NMA at www.motorists.org

Look up the statutes for your State. Following too closely may be defined. It may not be possible to follow too closely on an off ramp as they've defined it.

Keep in mind that the cop will lie. Try to get a copy of his incident report and notes on the citation back. This was an off ramp, so he would have been slowing down, so naturally you would have closed the distance between the two of you. YOu weren't following too closely, you were slowing...

I can be one to vouch... you can fight ANYTHING... but good luck winning!

Pulled into a gas station... realized I forgot my wallet, and turned around and pulled out the opposite corner... a cop driving through the busiest intersection in that part of the state... during rush hour... claims I did not stop, and I was cutting corners... no points, but still had to pay $120 in court costs to get the judge to drop it!

Driving down 35 mile per hour street... sun glaring... can barely see the road... a f'n cat jumps out in front of me... I swerve and accidently cut someone off next to me... cop sees this... first asks if I was drinking (on SUNDAY AT 11AM!!??)... then tries to say he saw me talking on my cell phone... never saw the cat... and gives me a "basic speed laws"... and wrote on the ticket that it should have been a wreckless! ...no points... $110

I got a careless for changing lanes too fast (missed my f'n exit)... was on my way to the hospital... even showed the judge the documentation... Well, that was 3 points- $140 bucks (another 300 for my lawyer~!)

I got a running a stop sign, by a cop who was about 200 yards behind me. I came to a complete stop... HE said I must have rolled through doing about 20! ???on a right hand turn, at a busy intersection??? ...that was 1 more point- $110

I merged from one highway to another... assumed speed limit was still 70, seemshow there were no posted signs yet. ...Get pulled over for doing 75 in a 55, by a cop sitting DIRECTLY UNDER THE FIRST DAMN SIGN!! (this one I'm still protesting... I took videotape documentation showing where I merged in contrast to where he pulled me over... in relevence to speed limit signs)

So basically bring your wallet... and justbeg and plead! Even good excuses and stories... or even PROOF doesn't mean a thing! ...especially if there are quotas to make that month!

Next time I get pulled over... and the cop asks "how's your driving record"... I'll ask... "well, how's your sense of humor!?"
