If you paid somewhere in the twenty to thirty dollar range for the oil change than it wasn't synthetic oil. A synthetic oil change will cost somewhere in the high forty dollar range. I'm sure others will have their own say about this.

If you paid $30 you either got a killer deal on a synthetic oil change (highly unlikely) or you paid a little above average for a dino oil change. Maybe there was some BS "7-point" inspection that they did to justify the $30 oil change. Btw, you shouldn't be putting in synthetic oil at 6,xxxx miles like the board members here have and will continue to say.

i am not sure, but i think all dealers are different. my honda dealer uses castrol 10w-30 non synthetic on their cars.
i think the other dealership by my mom's uses a different oil.
just do it yourself, i didn't think i could do it, but i just used xvipers diy oil change it was cheaper and i don't gotta let the dealer junkies joyride my car in the parking lot.
