Got rid of my Corvette and got another S2000
I don't buy cars based on narrowly focused "performance specs," because I learned long ago that such things tell me absolutely nothing about whether or not I'll like the car. Traditional sports cars were about having fun, and power or torque is not a necessary part of the equation. I don't really care how quickly a car accelerates if I feel like I'm driving a detuned race car every time I get behind the wheel. I don't really care how much lateral grip a car generates as long as I can toss it around with reckless (and wreckless) abandon. It took my preferences decades to mature to that point, and to get there I had to taste the quick and the fast, but what I learned was that these things alone are not enough, and that a car that lacks them can still be a total joy to drive.
In a sports car that is supposed to be "fun" (which is the only reason such cars exist) then the best of the lot are dripping with personality. So does anyone here think Vettes (any Vette) is *lacking" in personality? Love 'em or hate 'em, every Corvette has every bit as much personality as an S2000. Whether they're more fun or less fun depends on what you do with the car and what you want from the car.
They are not equals, because they are so different that comparisons are meaningless. It's like asking if an 850 Spider or Enzo is more fun, or less fun, than a Vette (or S2000). Hahaha, I find that driving a Ferrari is NOT fun, even on the track, because I worry too much about breaking the darn things, and I won't own one for that reason alone. LOL, better to drive my friends cars or rent when I get the itch. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make here is that the Vette and the S2000 both offer up unique and quite different driving experiences, and they're both a heck of a lot of fun. Preference for one or the other is to be expected, becaue they target quite different types of drivers.

Excellent way to put it.
Different people, different tastes, different styles, different driving conditions.
I openly admit I'd unload my S2000 for a new vette if I could afford it, but then I'd be too afraid to park it places, and although the S2000 is no longer rare, at least it's not overabundant like the vette. hehe
I can't blame you for the switch. Different car, different, feel, and the overwhelming power difference is all subjective, and depends on the tastes.

I'm seriously starting to consider doing the same... Went to an 06 Z51 about a year ago.
Stupid fast and really capable car, just don't trust it as much as the S and certainly don't have as much fun with it on a daily basis.
The rest of my feelings have pretty much already been summed up by others on this thread.
Enjoy your new S2K!
