I just wanted to bring it to your attention there are all kinds of opinions and it gets kind of boring hearing the same one over and over again from the same people

Now you know how I feel! Where I live the people talk nonstop about the Corvette and NEVER EVER give any other sports car a chance in hell and look down on anything that is not a Corvette ! Hell where I am at the GTR is not even a topic of discussion . And when you mention that that new Viper is faster it is like blasphemy to the Plastic perfection crowd! As an enthusiast it is hard to understand the adoration of just one car and not others ! I went to the BMW Euroautofest at the factory this year and was Awestuck when leaving that a Monteverdi Hai speed was there. Damn cool to see something rare not the same plastic car everyday!
And the worst is they will not STFU about Nascar either.

Everyone here is comparing it to the C5 vette- big difference.

I share the same feelings. I own a 2002 Z06 right now. Like everyone else has said. It is A LOT faster than the stock s. I feel that it handles better as well. But i miss the s2000 everyday even when im in the vette. I thought that maybe it was because its not convertible, but one of my friends that has a vert vette traded me for a weekend. Its not that at all. Just like everyone else has said I cant really explain it, i just wish i had my s2000 back. I dont think it will be long before i sell the vette and get another s2000.

The Vette just isn't as much fun to drive.
I wanted to love mine. It was a convertible. It had every feature available. Tons of power, lots of torque.
It felt like I was driving a toaster.

Nice write up, glad you're back in an S

Every now and then (specially in the winter) I think of changing the S for something else. Always wanted an air cooled 911, and lately the Cayman is looking very attractive as well. But then Spring comes and one drive after being in storage is all it takes to make me forget about those cars

to the OP, did you have any reservations about buying used?

I'm new to the S2K, and part of me can't justify the premium price for an 09.

I've asked for advice, but I don't think my thread is as popular as this one
No reservations at all.

The first one I bought was used and I never had a single problem. This one was owned by a gentleman in his 60's, so I'm sure it wasn't abused.

On both cars I was trying to find one owner vehicles.

If something happened that forced me to sell this vehicle, I would look at buying used again in a heartbeat.

I know my thinking is a bit odd when it comes to this kind of thing, but I don't understand how some of you can say that car A is "more fun to drive" than car B, and least not when car A and car B are both highly capable vehicles that are a blast to drive. On some roads and in some venues, the S2000 is a heck of a lot more fun than any Vette, but in other situations the Vette is going to be more fun. Which is more fun for a particular individual depends on their personal preferences and the conditions under which they drive.

LOL, on some of the roads in this area, a Lexus RX-300 is more fun than any S2000 or Vette.

Over the years we have bought too many new and too many used cars, and in my experience, we're just as likely to have problems with a new car as we are to hae problems with a used car. LOL, and it's more irritating when the new car lets you down.

FWIW, you can probably find a lot of info on this site about buying a used S2k (Difference btw AP1 & AP2, what to look out for, etc...).

I bought mine used too and so far it has been running great! Just take your time looking for one.
