Default Got Ripped off on Ebay

Well I won the auction for a VAFC about a month ago, seller would only accept check for payment, so I sent it out promptly. They then told me that it takes 15 days for an american check to clear in canada, and they would be sending the VAFC on the 17'th, and would give me all the tracking #'s. As of now, I cant get any replies to E-Mail, and the check shows cleared. Does anyone know if Ebay has any departments that would help me get my money back, or any way I can? I am about ready to fly a plane to canada and kick some ass.

everytime I see threads like this, my first response is no longer , "Sorry to hear about this."

It's now more like: "Are there any T.I.T.S. members in the area to help him get his money back?"

you may be jumping the gun.... did the seller have feedback or none -> (0)?

If they had decent feedback you can generally rely on it... I have never lost a dime on an ebay auction and I have 360 feedback..... lots of times no feedback was left, so I have probably bought / sold 500+ times on ebay with zero problems.

Maybe the guy went away for a few days and did not get your latest emails yet.

goodluck..... link to the auction would help.

I feel the government is going to step in sooner or later and start legislating online business, be it auction or otherwise. There just is way too many folks getting ripped off. I'm not sure current regs is enough anymore, or at least regulations written prior to the onslaught of online scammers. eBAY can't even get a handle on it anymore, it's out of control.

Let's keep the government outta something for a change. You have remedies, go through eBay's procedures. If that fails, then use legal procedures.

Yeah, it sucks, but it's a caveat emptor world. Always look at feedback and see where the feedback came from. Use your head before you open your wallet.

I'm tired of having people demand the government bail save them from their own foolish acts.

has it been more then 30days? There is a 30 day limit on complaints on ebay. So if you're still under the window, at least file a formal complaint with ebay so you have something on record.

I use to buy a ton of things on ebay, but they were mostly old bike parts ( < $100) with all the craziness going on, I wouldn't buy anything too expensive. It's just become harder and harder to get crazy deals.

I recently bought an Alpine 7894, and the new price from a dealer was only 30-40 bux for the bext ebay price I ever saw (and those were lightly used). No fuss or worries, I know some people try to save every penny, but my time is worth something to me!
