i came out this morning and found a ticket on my car. i parked my car behind my fathers car in the driveway and part of my back tire was on the sidwalk in new york.
why dont cops have anything better to do than ticket a car that is in my own driveway?

 

Not sure if you could win something like that,but if it were me I'd take a few photos of my car in the same position it was in when you were cited to court with me.....on the other hand,how much is the fine?...may not be worth the trouble.

 

it's a parking ticket? why even bother? no points, pay the fine more of a hassle to fight a parking ticket then it is worth. You'd have to prove the cop was wrong in issuing the ticket. Which if your tire was on the sidewalk, he wasn't.

 

If you WERE blocking the sidewalk in anyway, and the law is written to preevnt that, then i dont see the point of contesting it...especially since its not a moving violation. I'd just pay the fine and park farther in next time. Not worth the fight if you ask me, not based on cost nor principle.

 

If part of your tire was on the side walk, you back end was way out on the side walk.

No points, pay the fine, get on with life.
