And then you get bad reviews:

Does it really matter what others say about this car? Does the car make you happy? Or is it only GOOD reviews that make you happy and SAD ones poop on your parade? Does your view of your car change depending upon what others say about it?
IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!

The point of this article is that the S2000 is the MOST FUN FOR YOUR DOLLAR & per liter.

Mercedes, Viper (DODGE?!?!?), Corvette or Porsche in a Roadster they are all over or at $60,000

$30,000 , 2 liter , 240hp in a roadster. HONDA IS KING. Fun car & I have $30,000+ in the bank not in my garage.

I think you are wrong. Great car's deserve admiration. I can show you hundreds and hundreds of articles over the past five year's raving about how great this car is. It makes me damn proud to know that other's share the same view of this car as I do. Does it feed my ego - you bet. Don't tell me you don't enjoy people complimenting you on your car. You come back with IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!

I have a question that's been bugging me not specifically on this forum, but in many areas about the idea of a great write-up on things.

Is a great write-up one where the car (or other product) is cast in a favorable light or is a great write-up one where the author gives a full and unbiased review of the car (or other product)?

That said, that seemed to be a pretty good article. Cast the car in a good light and the writing style didn't portray a particular bias.

I also agree with xviper (one of these days I'll disagree with him...I WILL! ) and I think that unless you are shopping for a car and these various write-ups are part of your research, does it particlularly matter if other people like your decision or not?

I say this from the perspective of being a Miata owner. People constantly give me crap for not stepping up to the plate and getting an S, but when I'm behind the wheel and motoring through traffic or on a twisty back road I don't regret my decision one bit...nor do I give a rip what others think of my decision.

I must admit, however, that it's also nice to see when other people "get it" the way I do.

How about movie critics? I have strong views about them too. I see "bad" movies all the time and enjoy them thoroughly.
OK, nevermind. Don't wanna hijack the thread.

I'm a Jackie Chan fan and NONE of his movies are good, so you can guess where I stand on the issue...

Still agreeing with xviper!

Now, back to our regularly scheduled discussion of S2000 Write-Ups...

Personally, I think some of the best overall write-ups of the S2000 have come in comparison tests where the S2000 didn't actually "win" the test. To me it's about representing the strengths and weaknesses of the car in a fair light.
