Greater Houston S2K owners: seats???
Since my seats got stolen twice this year, I was browsing through this forum and came across a dozen(!) reports of people here in Houston that had their S2K broken into. All cases look very similar, if not identical: cars parked in well-lighted areas, top slashed, stock alarm disabled and seats and all other S2K items ripped. Considering how similar these cases are, it seems that they are all the work of the same (group of) ciminals. The two times it happened, mine was parked in a gated community, practically on my doorstep.
I was wondering whether any of you that had their year spoiled by these bastards, heard anyting from the police afterwards. Isn't there anything we can do to make Houston a safer place for the S2K? I am not looking for answers like specials bolts or alarms since I read about those already. My reasoning is that an idiot that has the gutts (and is professional enough) to break into a car that is parked in right front of about 20 apartment patios does not mind too much about these things. I am more looking for something along the lines of something that can get these MTF behind bars.

You should post this in the HouStook section.

I've had a motorcycle stolen, my previous car broken into(radio stolen), my wife's car broken into twice. They were never caught and the police don't "follow-up". You can consider the case closed.
I had an alarm installed immediately after purchasing my S2000, so that these things won't happen. Purchase one with a perimeter motion sensor and add in the pager option. When the alarm goes off, you will notified. That's the best defense I've come up with.
