The best maybe valentine, but it's also the most expensive.

I have a Passpot 8500 and it's the 2nd best and way cheaper than Valentine.

Reviews has been flawless for both, but bang for buck the 8500 takes it away.

Let me know if your interested in one. I have a brand new one, still in seran wrap.

PM me for more details.

PS: Yes they work in warning you, but they don't stop you from getting zapped.

I had a Passport 8500 for about two months.
I never sped in the two months, and don't really speed that often on the street, but I can testify if I was speeding, it wouldn've saved my life many times.

The only problem is, after two months, when my brother was using it in the family car and fell asleep while driving, he nearly totalled the car and the tow-truck driver snatched it away.

I have a Passport 8500, it has saved my butt a number of times. I don't drive like a lunatic but am often driving 10-15 mph over the limit on rural country back roads. This is the fourth or fifth detector I've owned and it puts all the others to shame.

I have had Escort products for years. Santa brought me a new Valentine 1 for Christmas this year . After using it for a few days I can honestly say that this is the greatest radar detector I could ever imagine. Not only does it tell you which direction you are getting shot from but it tells you how many radar sources are in the area.

Example....

You take the same route to work every day. Your Passport falses at the same spot every day(maybe near a shopping mall automatic door or a security system). As you pass one day, there may be a police radar at this same spot shooting you and you would not even know it. If you are used to the radar detector going off there, you may not slow down and you are nailed.

The Valentine 1 would go off also, but, it would give you a second warning and display a #2 telling you that there is an additional radar at that same location. The Valentine will also tell you what direction this additional radar source is coming from. This time, you slow down and you don't get nailed.

One ticket will cost you at least the difference in price between the Passport and the V1. The increase in your insurance rates may cost you this amount over and over again. You decide where your money is best invested.

I have the Passport. It has never failed me. I'm always alerted before visual contact.
