For those of you in the CT area, good news.
I just got my TSB-0055 done at Manchester Honda in Manchester, CT. I dealt with Ray Angle from the service dept.
I had been there early in the summer to document my 1-2 Grind. Last week I called to ask about the TSB, and explained I was having the problem. Ray immediatly made me an appointment to get that taken care of, and ordered the parts. Less than a week later I was told the parts were in and brought in the car the next day.
Thanks to this board, and it's many members I brought in a comprehensive list of precautions to take with handling the car and things to look out for with the TSB itself. Though I was quite "anal" Ray was more than accomodating. They even offered me a loaner !
He called me back that afternoon to say they got an early start on the car, and had already inspected the clutch for wear and for damage from a couple slippage incidents, he advised me my car already had the updated clutch and pressure plate.
The car was ready 48hrs later and I came to pick it up. They has parked it at the end of the lot, occupying two spots. They did not wash/detail it, drove it only 7 miles to do the necessary 15 1-2 shifts, and checked my tiny leak on the block (bring it in if it gets worse).
Ray documented again my peeling on the bumper, where it meets the fenders, and guaranteed me they could do an undistiguishable re-paint, he strongly recomended I have it done in the spring and even ofered to fix a small scrape from the curb on the spoiler section at the same time.
My alignment was not touched, and I got the TSB-0037 for proper window care.
The mechanic they have working on the S2000 has close to 30 years of experience working on Hondas, and has been specifically trained on S2000's.
In every aspect this was a 100% satisfaction experience, and their service rating survey will reflect that. Kudos goes out to Manchester Honda's Service Dept. and Ray Angle in particular.
To all those in need of any service on your S2000, or any other Honda, I highly recommend this dealership.

PS, Shelly, you may add this to the Rants and Raves section of S2000fans website if you wish.

It's nice to know that a satisfying dealership service experience is still possible. I noticed you made a reference to a tiny block leak in your post. Previous posts in this forum have made a reference to a problem known as porous block. You might want to check it out by going to: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...hp?threadid=428

Sounds like a "good" rant to me.

Shelley, please add this to the good rant section of s2ki.

Got to like stories like this one!

Whoa. . .wait a minute!

Are you telling me that there are problems with the S2000 tranny from 1st to 2nd gears?

If so, I must have the same problem with mine. It seems to always happen and I am always cautious not to shift too early (or late for that matter). Are most Honda dealerships aware of this? I may need to take mine in!

Yes. Some transmissions will grind from first to second when the tranny is hot. Several have had the syncro pac replaced, including mine.

Frank~
So your transmission doesn't grind anymore... how is the general feel from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 when shifting at a sane RPM level?

On my S--and I'm sure most--it's rather notchy and gritchy as I shift into those gears, especially if the engine is cool. It's like a knee with an ACL injury--causes me to grimmace every time. (The POS '95 Ford Probe owned by a lady friend of mine is more smoothe to shift.) Anyway, did you have this "gritch" issue beforehand too, and if so, is it gone now?

Glad you were treated well.

George,
Iv'e only driven the car a few miles so far, proboably won't drive much 'till the spring. Yes the 1-2 shif is very notchy, especially while the car is cold. I have heard many have had this happen, but usually it get back to normal after a few hundred miles of city driving and frequent shifts. I am not worrying.

Just wanted to comment on my experience with
the first and second gear grind/clutch update
Took my car into Classic Honda--dealt with Billy Walker/Service advisor-- who was well aware of problem concerning the grind. He couldn't have been more helpful or concerned about my car. The tech (Sur Ramkissoon) did
a super job. I have heard Aaron is good also It now shifts very smooth and the clutch is extremely quiet. The car was kept inside the maintenance bay at night. Returned with no scuff marks or grease marks. All trim fits perfectly. If you are in the Orlando area I highly recommend Classic Honda for a job well done. After anguishing over whether to have this done or not--I am glad I did. I had a very pleasant experience
with Classic Honda. Cudos to Billy and Sur.
